A Brief History![]() Tang's China House was founded in 1969 by Garry Tang (1970 marked the official opening). Dissatisfied with the absence of fine Chinese dining in Sarnia, Garry decided to enter the entrepreneurial world and give his business a start. A bold move for any entrepreneur, Garry knew that preparing good food and service would play an integral role in the business' success. As is the case with many fledgling businesses, Tang's spent its first year building its reputation and began to prosper well into the 70s and 80s. ![]()
In 1990, Garry was ready for retirement and asked Joe Lee (current manager) to take the torch. Joe recounts that when he started managing the business, he did not have much experience in the restaurant management field and adds that he was chosen as a successor because of his dedicated, responsible, and trustworthy work ethic.
In 1993, Joe launched the current 'East meets West' buffet which offered more selection combining oriental and western menus. |
